QA Engineer with an eye for details - Bergen

Do you want to work with products that truly impact people’s lives in a meaningful way? We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our R&D team in Bergen. 

The role and responsibilities

As our Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for performing manual testing of new products developed by R&D to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer.

Your days will be filled with

  • Collaborate with project team and other staff by utilizing technical skills and creativity to ensure that products function properly and meet the needs of clients
  • Execute test plans and test cases to ensure products meet quality standards
  • Document, track, and validate defects and failures in bug tracking software
  • Use product requirements to create test plans and test cases for new features and updates
  • Update test plans, test cases, and data scripts for features as needed 
  • Perform a variety of quality assurance tasks across products and platforms
  • Help identify areas of software risk and to develop/update test plans to mitigate risk
  • Work closely with team members, research and enter issues from external sources.

Software testing is conducted in a cross-platform environment (Windows, Android and iOS) on various browsers and devices, including speech generating devices. The Quality Assurance Engineer typically works as part of a project team but is also expected to work independently. 

We are looking for someone who has

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline
  • Experience with Quality assurance, experience in a cross-platform environment preferred
  • Experience creating test plans and test cases
  • Manual testing experience including, but not limited to black box, regression, functionality, exploratory, and usability testing
  • Understanding of Software QA methodology, techniques, tools, and the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience documenting, searching and validating issues in JIRA, FogBugz or other bug tracking software is preferred
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Norwegian is a plus.

We find it to be a strong merit if you have experience in Test Rail or other test case management tools. Automated testing tools such as Test Complete, Mercury WinRunner, or Compuware QACenter a plus, as is an understanding of how these tools work within a QA environment. If you have an understanding of development software (such as Visual Studio C++ or Javascript) we want you even more! 

If you have an ISTQB certification or other comparable QA/Test Engineering certification that is highly meriting.
