Regional Sales Director – New England

The Regional Director is responsible for growing and continuously improving the region’s financial performance and overall contribution to Tobii Dynavox’s sales objectives.

The role and responsibilities

Your days will be filled with:

Staff Development:

  • Training, directing, supporting, mentoring and supervising Solutions Consultants in selling all Tobii Dynavox products and accessories
  • Working with human resources on the process of recruiting and hiring new Solutions Consultants
  • Supporting, training and mentoring all Solutions Consultants (SCs) in the assigned territory on Tobii Dynavox’s product line and any accessories within inventory or work with training staff to assure this is accomplished.
  • Working with SCs to identify key personnel and sites that recommend and purchase Tobii Dynavox products; identify purchasing trends; and categorize and rank customers based on potential sales of Tobii Dynavox products
  • Assisting in maintaining Tobii Dynavox customer database by adding and updating information about all prospects
  • Evaluating and monitoring all reviews of the SCs on an annual basis
  • Developing materials to assist SCs when needed

Strategic Planning:

  • Balancing territories based on geographical potential, current staffing and quotas. Analyze for staffing needs.
  • Implementing the vision and mission statements
  • Coordinating positive national and regional business initiatives through the assessment of communication flow, goals, and impact of strategies. Manage by Objectives that are clear to the employee.

Financial Management:

  • Meeting and/or exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Forecasting/project sales targets on a monthly and quarterly basis, obtaining forecasts from SCs and Resellers
  • Monitoring SC’s sales activity on a daily/weekly basis to insure activity is appropriate and will generate adequate sales
  • Assisting in monitoring SCs expenses and keeping them in line with Tobii Dynavox’s policies

Organizational Management:

  • Performing administrative responsibilities which include continuous improvement, time management and communication skills, involvement with Funding and Inside Sales, and the generation of timely written reports
  • Prioritizing and managing corporate information with the knowledge of time sensitivity, political and legal ramifications, and confidentiality issues
  • Providing feedback on products and services needed in the field to Tobii Dynavox
  • Ensuring customer promotional activity through budgeting trade shows and local marketing keeping in mind ROI management. Providing customers with presentations, visitation, and entertainment when appropriate
  • Helping organize and coordinate sales meetings for international and regional associates as well as other departments

  • Adhering to company policies and procedures as well as regulatory compliances
  • Maintaining knowledge of the industry through awareness of associations, publications, and seminars as well as networking with customers, competitors, and industry related colleagues
  • Participating in company initiatives
  • Providing personal and professional development through use of individual development and performance improvement plans

We are looking for someone who has:

  • BS or BA preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years management experience or a history of successful sales experience

Skills needed to be successful in the position:

  • Excellent Interpersonal communication both oral and written with individuals and small to large groups.
  • Sensitivity to and ability to communicate effectively and to provide support to people of diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Ability to remain calm and focused while communicating in a stressful environment
  • Debate issues in a collegial and courteous manner and effectively participate in group discussions
  • Knowledge of specific computer programs/applications: Microsoft and Salesforce recommended
  • Using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs. (Spreadsheets)
  • Using a computer application to create, manipulate, edit and show virtual slide presentations
  • Ability to work in various environments with interruptions
  • Travel is required
  • Enduring long hours/hours beyond usual work week
  • Ability to thrive and keep up in a competitive environment
