Tobii Tech's mission to make tomorrows technology even more adapted to natural human behavior is getting real. As you read this we are integrating Tobii’s core eye tracking technology into laptops, VR and AR headsets, we are developing eye tracking functionalities for games and we are taking yet another step into the ESPORT arena. What is next to come? Only we know.

Tobii is now looking for students that wish to explore computer vision and machine learning within eye tracking technology. You will validate state of the art research, come up with new and exciting hypotheses and test them. Above all, your work will impact the way we experience computer interaction, making virtual reality more real and giving people with disability a voice.

The Algorithm team consists of almost 50 people with backgrounds within Math, Computer Science and Applied Physics.

Available summer jobs:

C++ code quality improvements

This summer job will be done in collaboration with the architecture group in the algorithm team. Tasks could include:

- Suggest and implement improvements in existing C++ code base

- Improve C++ standard conformance

- Develop clang-format and/or clang-tidy rules

Algorithm performance analysis tool improvements

Our gaze tracking algorithms are evaluated in a Python framework using Pandas and Bokeh plots. We need help adding an intuitive UI and powerful data visualization components. If you are skilled in Python and have an interest in optimizing work-flow and data visualization, then this is the perfect summer job for you!

Semi supervised annotation framework for machine learning

At Tobii we work with large data sets for training and evaluating machine learning based algorithms. Completely manual annotation of this data is tedious and time-consuming. The goal of this project is to investigate methods for increasing the data annotation efficiency and throughput. There are several relevant techniques to explore, ranging from simple interpolation or extrapolation of existing annotations to advanced machine learning based methods. In this project we envision using semi supervised learning for pre-annotation, but the final choice of method and scope will be made in the beginning of the project based on a literature review.

We believe that you have a strong mathematical background in statistics, computer vision and machine learning. Programming experience in C++ and Python is a big plus. Furthermore, we think you're passionate about algorithms, enjoy learning together with others, exploring new techniques and sharing your knowledge.
