Director, Prior Authorization

Our funding department, which helps end users of our products navigate the insurance process, is the driving force of our business. The Director of Prior Authorization develops and implements policies and procedures that support funding department goals.

The Director is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the operation while driving company goals, defining objectives and promoting values of the organization. This role manages a combination of managers and individual contributors who support the mission of the team.

Our Pittsburgh, PA office is located just minutes from “Dahntahn” Pittsburgh and here you will be working with more than 200 happy Tobiians in the most dynamic and friendly environment in all of Pennsylvania. Your days will be filled with:

  • Defining overall strategic direction of funding team and ensuring organizational development
  • Developing the department's budget and forecasting
  • Overall responsibility for process/systems development, to ensure the accurate and timely intake, submission, and processing of funding authorizations
  • Developing new initiatives to drive top line sales growth, reduce cycle time, and improve inter-departmental operations
  • Reviewing and analyzing the department’s performance
  • Writing and presenting department performance reports
  • Leading the funding group and ensuring its representation in stakeholder meetings and that its needs are addressed
  • Leading cross organizational collaboration
  • Approving and executing all new or revised funding authorization policies and procedures
  • Breaking down organizational roadblocks to support funding managers in driving change
  • Resolving escalated issues involving customer inquiries, sales staff concerns and third-party payer disputes
  • Performing various other tasks as assigned

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+years of durable medical equipment, reimbursement, healthcare, insurance or relevant experience
  • 5+ years leadership experience
