The Learning Design Manager will serve as leader of the Learning Design team at Tobii Dynavox. This role will lead the team in designing and developing world-class training experiences that empower those supporting individuals with complex communication needs to live their best lives: communicating, engaged and actively participating in life.

Job Description

Your days will be filled with:

  • Manage the design and development of training programs based on the needs of internal and external customers
  •  Apply a deep knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design models, assessment and evaluation methods, and industry best practices in learning, developing for performance and results, and blended learning solutions
  • Undertake process improvement initiatives to support future state of learning at Tobii Dynavox
  • Ensure the Learning Design team produces learner-centric, results-focused learning experiences and deliverables; prioritize the updating or recreation of existing content that does not meet criteria
  • Support the development and maintenance of a core set of content that lends itself to a number of key learning products, including certification programs, university outreach, train-the-trainer models, product onboarding and out-of-the box resources, and continuous education for professionals
  • Partner with the Learning Delivery manager and Director of Learning  to ensure a team-wide strategy of collaboration, content prioritization, and collateral management
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices; demonstrate understanding of social learning, adult learning principles, gamification, video learning, and micro-learning
  • Contribute to learning strategy and execution around product launches and the go-to-market process
  • Conduct ongoing and timely performance assessments for Learning Designer performance and quality of work; provide coaching and feedback
  • Monitor and evaluate training program effectiveness; support the team’s analytics and reporting efforts
  • Drive future strategy for and state of the customer-facing LMS
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure all learning deliverables align to corporate branding and our desired customer experience
  • Collaborate with internal and external SMEs; conduct thorough needs assessments in diverse audiences; ability to run focus groups
  • Solid understanding of LMS and e-learning techniques and technology; able to support LMS implementation and maintenance
  • Determine continuance of existing programs and new programs to be developed
  • Collaborate with global training roles to promote content and idea sharing between business units
  • Participate in the design and development of learning deliverables to support team priorities
Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • B.S. degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field required
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field preferred
  • 7 years of experience in Instructional Designer and/or Instructional Design Manager role(s) required
  • Leadership experience required
  • Experience as a trainer/facilitator preferred

Training Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven track record using training to drive performance and business results
  • Strong learning program design, learning program management, and learning project management skills
  • Design and develop learner-centric learning offerings and deliverables in accordance with adult learning principles and relevant research in the field of training and development
  • Design learning offerings that promote the use of activities-based learning techniques in multiple delivery methods
  • Design learning content with considerations for the specific audience as well as facilitators
  • Design learning experiences which facilitate a positive learning environment in which learners feel comfortable
  • Design learning events for continuing education credits within guidelines and expectations set for compliance
  • Provide a high level of customer service and support to key customers and learning initiatives
  • Design and develop learning for onsite, virtual, documentation, online, video, blended, and other formats / delivery methods
  • Align deliverables with marketing and brand guidelines as well as team and industry standards, processes, and policies
  • Demonstrate project management and strong organization skills while approaching learning programs and training events

Computer Skills:

  • Able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Microsoft Office and 365 - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams, Outlook; ability to effectively use Windows OS
  • Familiar with popular social media sites and applications such as Facebook and Instagram
  • TechSmith Camtasia and Snagit
  • Cloud storage solutions such as OneDrive and Box
  • Zoom and Video hosting solutions
  • E-Learning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline
  • Adobe Creative Cloud suite including Adobe Acrobat
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM / AICC / xAPI
  • Favro / internal project management tool
