Shape the Future of Eye-Tracking Technology at Tobii
At Tobii, we’re redefining how humans interact with technology. Our eye-tracking systems power groundbreaking research and innovative products that improve training, workflows, and user experiences. Now, we’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and help build the next generation of high-performance eye trackers.
What You’ll Do
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll design, evaluate, and optimize mechanical solutions for eye-tracking systems—leveraging purpose-built designs or off-the-shelf components to ensure seamless integration with optronics, electronics, and production. Your work will enable reliable, high-performance products used by customers worldwide.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) to model new eye-tracking products.
- Assisting integrators of Tobii eye-tracking technology in their design work.
- Supporting sales and product management in technical discussions with external partners.
- Building prototypes for next-generation eye trackers.
- Assisting production with yield improvement initiatives.
- Designing and building test equipment for production and data collection for algorithm development.
- Collaborating closely with optronics engineers, system engineers, and algorithm developers.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar).
- Experience with mechanical design for consumer electronics or precision devices.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (plastics, metals, injection molding, CNC machining).
- Strong communication skills in English.
It’s a merit if you also have hands-on experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting).
Sounds like you?
We’re looking for someone who are practical, curious, and thrive on collaboration. You have an open-minded, growth-oriented mindset and enjoy finding simple, effective solutions. You’re excited about working across disciplines and contributing to cutting-edge technology that shapes the future of human-computer interaction. In short, you’re someone who gets things done—and brings others along for the ride.
